On Sunday 10 June, ISCI was challenged to a game of 15 aside rugby by HMS Monmouth (hereafter referred to as HMSM).

After many attempts to get the HMSM lads sloshed at the IRFU lunch (or lost down at Blok M), the full squad of 25 turned up at 3.30pm at ISCI. ISCI started dribbling in at 4-4.15. Hearing the Spartan cries of “1,2, 3 push” by the HMSM scrum we knew we were in for a good game.

The IRFU is proud to announce that starting in 2007 the Indonesian Rhinos playing kit will be sponsored by Carisbrook from New Zealand. A three-year sponsorship deal through until 2009 was recently agreed upon by both parties.

The recent Crown Relocations Jakarta Rugby 10’s also doubled up as a ‘selection trial’ for the 2007 Indonesian Rhinos Squad to tour Brunei in mid-July. The Rhinos will once again participate in the Asian Division 6 Championships which include Indonesia, Cambodia, Lao and Brunei.

On Saturday May 5, ISCI Jakarta Rugby Club hosted 13 teams to compete in the 2007 Crown Relocations Jakarta Rugby 10’s tournament. Indonesian teams from as far as West Papua, Sumbawa, Bali, Aceh, East Kalimantan, and North Maluku descended upon Jakarta to compete with teams from ISCI Jakarta and Bandung University. The Tequila Mockingbirds of Hong Kong also travelled to this annual event.
