Fez by Aphrodite Cup Finals

After some aborted rounds, much confusion and other associated hijinks, the IRFU is proud to announce that Saturday the 14th of June saw some rugby played in the capital. Following the debacle of a no-show in Bandung and some extraordinary tardiness the week before at SPH, Tangerang, the Rams and the Samurai turned out for the 3rd and 4th place play off.

With only a minute gone, the tape was broken as Rams stalwart Moses Kalo crossed for what would be the first of many five-pointers. Several even got converted in contravention of the unofficial policy of no more than ten extra points per game. With the wind in their sails and a depleted Japanese side never recovering, the Rams ran out 95-15 winners.

The main course was to be the unbeaten ISCI Komodos facing the underrated youngsters of the Bantengs. And although the predicted fait accompli was fulfilled, the 61-0 score line, the lowest the Komodos have been held to all season, reflected the gains the young Banteng side has made.

The trophy was presented to the ISCI lads, but not before Indonesian Rugby’s boy wonder, Bantengs Daniel Rahadian was presented with the player of the tournament award.

The IRFU would like to thank sponsors Fez, Coca Cola, OSI, the referees, players and supporters for making the tournament such a success.
